About The Position

As a Security Officer at a retail distribution location in Hagerstown, Maryland, you will serve and safeguard clients, team members, visitors, and drivers. You will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming environment. The role includes providing customer service and clear communication, responding to security-related needs, and following site-specific procedures and policies.

This is a full-time position paying $20.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state-, county-, or city-issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and associates by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution facility, loading areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location and verify visitor and contractor authorization.
• Maintain accurate visitor, delivery, and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and follow established escalation procedures.
• Help maintain an orderly flow of deliveries and personnel at entry and exit points while providing professional, courteous service.
