About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol in Jersey City, New Jersey. The position provides consistent hours at an assigned site, with the option to pick up additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The assigned weekly shift requires a six-month commitment. Additional shifts may be available across multiple sites, with opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The pay rate is $15.92 per hour.

The scheduled anchor shifts are Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The officer will provide customer service and carry out site security procedures, conduct patrols, monitor access points and high-traffic areas, respond to incidents, and document and communicate relevant observations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, employees, vendors, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, using problem-solving skills.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the grocery store, parking areas, delivery areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or policy concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas; observe and report suspicious activity, theft-related concerns, and unauthorized access according to site procedures.
• Accurately document incidents, observations, and daily activities, and communicate relevant information to store management and Allied Universal leadership.
