About The Position

Securitas is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for client sites by actively monitoring premises, patrolling locations, preserving order, and enforcing site regulations and directives. The officer may also provide customer service and information to client employees and customers. The role supports Securitas’s values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. No prior experience is necessary; candidates with retail, food service, or hospitality backgrounds may be a good fit, and training is provided to introduce new hires to the security industry. The position involves frequent standing and walking, occasional climbing or lifting up to 25 pounds, and exposure to inclement weather and varying environments. Officers must be able to handle multiple tasks under pressure, may be required to work overtime or respond to urgent situations, and must use protective gear and follow safety protocols as needed.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED.
Legal right to work in the United States.
Reliable communication and transportation.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and background check.
Ability to meet state, county, and municipal licensing requirements.
Professional composure in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

Manage admittance to client sites, screen visitors, and assist employees and guests.
Provide courteous, respectful, and professional customer service that reflects positively on the client and security team.
Observe entrances, exits, and remote access points, prevent unauthorized entry, and direct disturbances calmly and effectively.
Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for hazards, violations, or unsafe conditions.
Protect evidence, set up barriers, and respond to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, hazardous materials, or severe weather.
Maintain logs, write reports, and communicate incidents to client representatives, management, or public safety authorities.
Ensure property removal complies with client policies and standards.
Perform other tasks of similar scope as required by the site.
