About The Position

The Caregiver assists residents with aspects of daily life as indicated in each resident’s care plan, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, and activities. The role is full-time at Brandywine Living at Upper Providence, with shifts from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. or 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Pay is $21.00 per hour; final compensation depends on experience and qualifications. The caregiver supports residents’ safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality; helps with personal care and daily activities; documents services provided; and promptly reports changes in residents’ conditions to a supervisor. The role involves frequent standing, walking, and other physical activity, including intermittent lifting and supporting of residents.

Requirements

Direct Care Certificate.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to perform the physical duties of the job, including standing, walking, sitting, using fine and gross motor skills, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and smelling.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform intermittent lifting and supporting of residents using proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities

Provide resident care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, according to each resident’s care plan.
Maintain residents’ safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality.
Escort residents to meals and activities.
Ensure assigned residents are clean, neatly dressed and groomed, safe, and fed during assigned shifts.
Document all services provided to assigned residents during the shift.
Immediately report any change in a resident’s condition to a supervisor.
Assist residents with daily-life needs that may include food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, and activities.
