About The Position
Top Guard Security is hiring full-time unarmed Security Officers in Norfolk, Virginia. Officers serve and safeguard clients, staff, visitors, and buildings, maintaining a professional presence and delivering clear communication and exceptional customer service. In an access-control role, officers monitor entry points, verify credentials and identities, document visitors, contact the employees they are visiting, issue visitor badges, and retrieve badges when visitors leave. Teamwork and integrity are expected in support of site operations. The position offers a choice of listed day, mid, and night schedules, with shifts that may vary slightly. The job requires standing or sitting for extended periods and performing a range of movements and physical tasks, including walking, running, climbing, and occasionally carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Candidates must have, or be able to obtain, CPR/AED certification and a Virginia DCJS Unarmed License. A clear criminal history is required for the background investigation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have a clear criminal history for the background investigation.
- Must have a DCJS Unarmed License or be able to obtain one through the Department of Criminal Justice Services.
- Must be CPR/AED certified or able to obtain certification.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods and to stoop, bend, pull, push, grasp, walk, run, carry, and climb.
- Ability to infrequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Man entrances to the building and perform facility access control.
- Inspect personnel and visitors entering and exiting the facility.
- Verify visitor identity, document visitor information, contact the employee being visited, issue visitor badges, and retrieve badges when visitors leave.
- Provide vehicle and pedestrian traffic control, including checking parking permits and identification.
- Perform counter-surveillance of the premises.
- Monitor CCTV equipment.
- Patrol the facility.
- Safeguard clients, staff, visitors, and buildings while maintaining a professional presence.
- Provide customer service, communicate clearly, and support site operations through teamwork and integrity.
- Perform other duties specified in the current Security Officers Procedure supplied by the client.
