About The Position

Premier Protective Security (PPS) is hiring an Unarmed Level 1 Security Officer for a Maverik Gas Station in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The role helps maintain a safe and secure environment by safeguarding and patrolling the premises, preserving order, and enforcing site-specific regulations and directives. Officers may provide customer service and information to client employees and customers, and respond calmly to incidents and critical situations. The position requires the ability to stand and walk on foot patrol for the entire shift. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., and Monday, 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., for a stated total of 35 hours. Pay is $20.00 per hour and is non-negotiable. Candidates must hold an active New Mexico Level 1 Unarmed Security Guard license and have the security card in hand; a certificate alone is not sufficient. Offers are conditional on meeting the stated screening, verification, interview, and onboarding requirements, as well as completing on-the-job and site-specific training. Requirements

Must hold an active New Mexico Level 1 Unarmed Security Guard license and have the security card in hand; a certificate is not sufficient.
At least 1 year of security experience.
Must be able to stand and walk on foot patrol for the entire shift.
Must be at least 18 years old for an unarmed role.
High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience; the posting notes the experience alternative applies only to armed roles.
Must pass a background investigation and drug screen, subject to applicable law.
Must complete required onboarding and on-the-job and site-specific training.
Must receive approval and interview with the assigned site manager; an in-person interview may be required.
Must receive E-Verification approval and be able to obtain security certification according to New Mexico requirements.
Must be able to commute to or relocate to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

Safeguard and actively monitor client premises, including conducting regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
Preserve order and enforce site regulations, directives, and site-specific policies for personnel, visitors, and the area.
Provide customer service and information to client employees and customers.
Carry out safety and security procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Remain vigilant by seeing, hearing, and evaluating potential risks or incidents.
