About The Position

The Security Officer patrols and responds to calls throughout all areas of the hospital. The role maintains a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors by upholding applicable federal and state laws and Emanate Health policies in an effective and tactful manner. While work follows established departmental operating procedures, decision-making varies and is routinely performed under moderate pressure and occasionally under extreme stress.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or one year of security experience.
• Must be familiar with the hospital environment.
• Working knowledge of electronics, access control systems, electronic locking hardware, and CCTV.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Valid California Guard Card and California Driver’s License.
• American Heart Association BLS certification and Baton and Pepper spray must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have two years of continuous driving experience in California.
• Must have no major driving convictions, no more than one moving citation in a three-year period, and no more than one at-fault accident in a three-year period.
• Assaultive Behavior Training Certification that meets AB508 and SB1299 is required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• New hires who completed Assaultive Behavior training outside Emanate Health must complete the Emanate Health Workplace Violence online awareness module within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in security, law enforcement, or the military is preferred.
