About The Position

Securitas is hiring a Security Officer in Somerset, New Jersey. The role helps maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring premises, patrolling assigned locations, preserving order, and enforcing site regulations and directives. Officers may also provide customer service and information to client employees and visitors. The posted schedule is Friday and Saturday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; the description also lists the shift hours as “11:00pm to 7:00pm.”

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED required.
Standard computer and technology skills.
Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals.
Ability to conduct patrols throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant throughout the shift.
Active New Jersey SORA license or ability to obtain one.
Valid driver's license.
Open availability.
Punctuality and reliability are essential; there is no relief coverage.
Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and remain alert in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous security experience is highly preferred.
Previous receptionist experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and screen visitors, employees, and contractors upon entry.
Monitor security systems and access control.
Maintain visitor logs and issue temporary badges as needed.
Respond to inquiries and provide directions professionally.
Assist in emergency situations by following established protocols.
Communicate effectively with security personnel and site management.
Follow security policies and procedures.
Conduct patrols throughout the shift and actively monitor the premises.
Preserve order and enforce site regulations and directives related to personnel, visitors, and the area.
Provide customer service and information to client employees and customers as needed.
