About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer to conduct vehicle and foot patrols at a mall in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role involves monitoring assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, helping deter incidents, and providing customer service to tenants, visitors, and patrons. The officer responds to concerns and security incidents, communicates professionally, and supports a welcoming environment. The position pays $18.25 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It requires a valid driver’s license. Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements; licensing may also be required under state or local law.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and patrons by following site-specific procedures and policies and, when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations.
Monitor access points and observe activity to help deter unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security-related concerns.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally; document observations and complete required reports.
Communicate professionally with property representatives, tenants, visitors, and emergency responders regarding security-related matters.
