About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for an unarmed patrol role at a higher education location. The officer will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and clients by patrolling campus areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, responding to concerns, and providing customer service. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and pays $21.50 per hour.

Employment is conditional on a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local requirements. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors in accordance with site-specific procedures and policies, and assist with emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Accurately document incidents, patrol activity, and daily observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
