About The Position

At The Home Depot, safety is a top priority. The Corporate Security Officer serves as a visible presence of safety and security on the company’s corporate campuses at the Store Support Center (SSC). Officers monitor SSC facilities to help ensure a safe environment for associates, provide security services and customer support, and maintain a calm, professional attitude while managing routine procedures and emergencies. This role may also be known as Security Officer or Security Guard. The position works 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time. It typically reports to the Supervisor Security and has no direct reports.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Three to six months of work experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Must be able to read and write to review and complete required reports and record-keeping activities.
Interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with associates and visitors.
Logical skills to inspect company property and help ensure the safety of associates and visitors.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to people entering or exiting SSC facilities.
Monitor security checkpoints and designated areas to screen and control events.
Escort associates and visitors upon request.
Patrol the perimeter of SSC campuses.
Investigate unusual incidents or behaviors.
Prepare incident reports for actual or potential security issues.
Interview victims and witnesses as needed.
Respond to emergency situations on campus.
Conduct security inspection tours of SSC campuses and document and report problems in detail to appropriate personnel.
Monitor building access points using security technology, CCTV, and HR systems as necessary.
