About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Armed Response Driver in McAllen, Texas. The position provides a fixed weekly shift at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment to that schedule. Employees may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to increase their hours up to 40 per week and adjust their schedule as needed. The role pays $14.00 per hour and has a scheduled daytime shift on Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

The Security Officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures and site policies, responds to incidents and emergencies, and conducts armed patrols of retail areas and the surrounding property. The role requires maintaining firearm qualifications and complying with applicable laws, client policies, and company procedures.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations, potentially before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and in a problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout retail sales areas, receiving zones, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe for suspicious activity, and report security-related concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain required firearm qualifications and follow applicable laws, client policies, and Allied Universal procedures for armed assignments.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
