About The Position

As an unarmed mobile patrol driver supporting a government location in Rockford, Illinois, the Security Officer conducts routine patrols—primarily by driving—through assigned areas to help deter incidents, report concerns, and provide customer service. The role involves communicating professionally with staff and visitors and contributing to a secure environment. This is a part-time position scheduled Friday and Saturday nights, from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
A valid driver’s license, required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security procedures and policies at a government location.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures, direct individuals to appropriate locations, and report access concerns.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following established emergency response protocols.
Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
