About The Position

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The role serves and safeguards a high-profile healthcare customer by monitoring the premises and protecting staff, members, and visitors. The officer detects and helps prevent suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides friendly, professional customer service. The stated pay rate is $19.00 per hour, with a flex shift.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles. The posting lists a requirement of 21+ years of age for this position.
• At least six months of security experience, as stated in the job listing requirements.
• Prior work experience involving customer interactions, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Successfully complete the required training and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification after an offer.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or by vehicle to identify unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
• Orally and physically de-escalate individuals as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to facilitate admission to the facility.
• Respond calmly and urgently to fires, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, and inclement weather.
• Perform duties that may include patient escort or watch, safety escorts, and assisting with or transporting deceased individuals to the morgue.
