About The Position

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high-profile healthcare customer. You are responsible for surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and protection of staff, members, and visitors. You will detect and prevent suspicious activity, observe and report incidents, and provide friendly, professional customer service.

Requirements

• Prior work experience involving customer interactions, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, depending on state and/or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
• After an offer, must successfully complete the training requirement and obtain Management of Aggressive Behavior certification.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or by vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
• Orally and physically de-escalate individuals as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire-control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility.
• Respond calmly and urgently to incidents involving fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, or inclement weather.
• Depending on the assignment, escort or watch patients, provide safety escorts, and assist with or transport deceased individuals to the morgue.
