About The Position

MSC Security is seeking dependable, professional Security Officers to protect clients’ assets, property, and personnel. Officers perform assigned post duties, maintain activity and incident records, conduct patrols, enforce client policies, communicate with the public and team members, and respond appropriately to emergencies. The role requires a Maryland Guard Card in active status and a full active driver’s license. This is a part-time position with 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-shift and weekend schedules.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Have reliable transportation; public transportation is not considered reliable transportation for this position.
• Possess a working cell phone for communication with Operations Supervisors.
• Pass a criminal background check with no felony arrests or convictions.
• Be eligible to obtain a Maryland Guard Card.
• Be able to perform duties outlined in post orders, which may include extended periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
• Be comfortable using mobile technology, including tablets and smartphones.
• Possess a valid full driver's license.
• Hold an active Maryland Guard Card and a full active driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily activity log for each assigned shift and post.
• Accurately document incidents in detailed written reports.
• Conduct walking and/or vehicular patrols throughout assigned shifts.
• Enforce client rules and policies professionally and courteously.
• Report to assigned posts on time and in proper uniform.
• Communicate effectively with the public, clients, and fellow team members.
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication and active listening.
• Provide professional customer service.
• Assess and respond appropriately to emergencies and critical situations.
• Identify potential security concerns quickly and take appropriate action.
