About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Hospital Security Officer to serve and safeguard a healthcare customer. The officer is responsible for surveillance of the healthcare premises and protecting staff, members, and visitors. The role involves detecting and preventing suspicious activity, observing and reporting incidents, and providing friendly, professional customer service. Requirements

• Prior work experience involving customer interactions, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Be at least 21 years of age for an armed role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have five years of verifiable experience.
• Have hospital vaccinations.
• Possess an armed security license.
• Successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification after receiving an offer.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, by bicycle, or in a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
• Orally and physically de-escalate individuals as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility.
• Respond calmly and urgently to incidents involving fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, or inclement weather.
• The role may also include patient escort, patient watch, safety escorts, and assisting with or transporting deceased individuals to the morgue.
