About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer supporting a utility location in New York, NY, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and provide customer service. The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access-control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and other authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency-response activities at a utility location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, access points, and perimeter areas to identify unauthorized activity and report concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required logs related to visitor activity, access-control events, incidents, and shift operations.
