About The Position

As a Security Officer Visitor Management at a food and beverage production location in Topeka, Kansas, you will help safeguard the site while providing professional customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers. You will manage access points, verify credentials, monitor visitor and vehicle activity, maintain logs, and conduct patrols. You will also respond to security concerns and emergencies according to site procedures. This is a full-time position with a listed pay rate of $17.16 per hour. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers while carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-control and visitor logs.
Observe inbound and outbound personnel, deliveries, and vehicles at controlled entry points; report irregularities, prohibited items, and access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established notification and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
