Requirements

• Possess 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entry points, common areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual behavior.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and communicate with site personnel regarding security-related concerns and/or policy questions.
• Support daily campus operations by observing surroundings, documenting incidents, and notifying appropriate contacts about maintenance issues, hazards, and/or emergency situations.
