About The Position

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have valid New York State Security Guard License.
Must have valid BLS certification.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for long periods without becoming winded or extremely fatigued.
Manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination are necessary.
Must be able to participate in mandatory semi-annual Defensive Tactics Training, which is physically demanding.
Must have the ability to perform repetitive duties in making tours of buildings and grounds.
Must have the ability to asses and evaluate situations effectively along with paying attention to detail.
Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Nice To Haves

Having previous experience as a fireman, policeman, public safety, military, or watchman is desirable.

Responsibilities

Patrols hospital and grounds to prevent fires, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
Transports supply, pharmaceuticals and equipment for events and activities to and from the satellite units or other locations as needed.
