Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. In this people-first role, you will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication and customer service while bringing an agile, reliable, and innovative approach grounded in teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and reporting relevant details to site leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or maintenance-related issues that may need attention.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access as directed by site policies, and help to deter unauthorized persons from entering restricted areas.
  • Support a respectful environment within the shelter setting by observing resident and visitor interactions, addressing routine concerns professionally, and escalating security-related matters when needed.
