As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, guests, and staff through strong customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access support activities, and/or emergency response actions appropriate to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor activity, assist with check-in processes as directed, and communicate with site personnel regarding unusual behavior, maintenance issues, and/or security-related incidents.
  • Support a respectful environment within a residential shelter setting by observing resident and guest interactions, helping to de-escalate conflicts when appropriate, and contacting emergency services and/or supervisors when needed.
