Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control activities. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a residential shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access to the location by observing visitor activity, verifying authorized entry points, and reporting policy violations, maintenance concerns, and/or potential hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support a respectful environment by assisting with de-escalation, following post orders, and maintaining an attentive presence during resident movement, deliveries, and/or high-traffic periods.
