About The Position
As a Security Officer Screening Operations in Fairbanks, Alaska, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government location. You will help maintain a welcoming, professional environment by screening visitors, verifying access, monitoring entry points, and reporting security-related concerns. This is a part-time position scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 12:45 PM to 5:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.38 per hour. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, court personnel, and the public while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
- Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures, and direct prohibited items according to site policy.
- Monitor access points, verify authorization as required, and maintain orderly entry and exit flow at the courthouse location.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned public areas and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
