As a Security Officer Screening Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, screening visitors, maintaining entry and exit records, and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following post orders and established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter inappropriate activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
  • Communicate with staff, visitors, and/or public officials regarding access procedures, restricted areas, and incident documentation requirements.
