About The Position

As a Security Officer Driver Screening in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support daily operations through visible presence, patrols, and strong communication. This is a driving post. In this role, you will help promote a welcoming environment, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver service with the agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity that define Allied Universal.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A current tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA DPSS/DHS requirements.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, process visitors, and report unauthorized access attempts or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and supporting site staff during security-related events.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting unusual activity and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Communicate with employees, visitors, and/or agency representatives regarding post instructions, restricted areas, and access requirements while helping to support orderly operations.
