About The Position

As a Security Officer Driver Screening Post in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support daily access procedures with strong communication and customer service. This is a driving post. In this role, you will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents while delivering service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

  • A DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and/or MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and document visitor, staff, and contractor access in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating with site personnel and appropriate responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity.
  • Assist with screening, controlling keys and/or credentials, and maintaining accurate logs and reports related to daily security-related operations.
