As a Security Officer Screener in Tavares, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener in a government location, you will monitor entry points, conduct screening activities, and support a professional, welcoming environment through strong communication and customer service. You will remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents while responding to site needs with care and professionalism. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or personal property at designated entry points in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor access points and report unusual activity, prohibited items, and/or policy concerns in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations with professionalism, following post orders and established escalation protocols.
  • Complete required logs, screening records, and/or incident documentation, and conduct regular and random observations of assigned areas as directed.
