As a Security Officer Screener in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. At a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage access control, monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional environment through routine patrols, visible presence, and strong communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, vendors, and employees by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, screen visitors and deliveries, and maintain accurate access records in support of authorized site access.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around access points, the business, and the perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns.
  • Support truck gate and yard entry processes by checking identification, confirming approved access, and directing individuals to the appropriate location according to post instructions.
