About The Position

Join Allied Universal at a dynamic education location as a Front Desk Officer, where you will help create a welcoming presence while supporting access control, visitor check-in, and other security-related responsibilities. In this stationary role, you will use strong communication and customer service skills to help to deter incidents, assist students, staff, and guests, and reflect Allied Universal’s values of reliability, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out front desk security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within an educational location.
  • Monitor visitor access at the front desk by greeting students, staff, faculty, and guests, verifying identification and/or credentials, and directing arrivals according to location protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, questions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site contacts and/or emergency personnel when appropriate.
  • Support daily front desk operations by maintaining awareness of lobby activity, documenting security-related events and/or visitor information, and communicating clearly with location personnel regarding unusual activity or access concerns.
