About The Position

As a Security Officer Performing Arts Center in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Requirements

  • Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
  • Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout public areas, entrances, lobbies, galleries, event spaces, and the exterior perimeter, with working conditions that may vary by location and event activity.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry, disruptions, and/or policy violations while supporting a welcoming environment for performances, exhibitions, and special events.
  • Assist with crowd management, directional support, and/or post-event departure activity while following Allied Universal protocols and site-specific instructions.
