About The Position

The Music Teacher Assistant_ Non-Public School (NPS): Vista School assists the teacher in developing and carrying out Music curriculum and behavior modification for Special Education students. Essential Job Duties (other duties may be assigned): Adhering to the following standards of professionalism: Arriving to work as scheduled (7:45am-3:45pm), clocking in upon arrival and when leaving each day. Upon arrival to work, check in with immediate supervisor for daily briefing. Present a positive attitude toward work by demonstrating effort and initiative. Work effectively with the teacher and other school staff by maintaining effective communication regarding students, other work-related matters and assisting to maintain consistent behavior management programs and matters related to academic curriculum. Duties also include assembly and use of complete information of confidential nature. Intake information, psychological and educational reports, and IEPs. 100% of routine time. Occasional contacts are required with staff or supervisors of other departments. Requirements

  • Must have visual, physical, and technical ability to independently use a computer.
  • Knowledge of cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and physical developments for children ages 5 to 22.
  • Proof of passing the CBEST and/or a 30-Day Substitute Credential.
  • CBEST/30-Day Substitute Credential

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS Degree in Music/Music education preferred.
  • Experience is preferred, not mandatory with Special Education Students.
