Teacher - Performing Arts
About The Position
St Patrick’s School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Performing Arts Teacher to bring music, performance and creativity to life for students. The role involves delivering engaging Performing Arts learning experiences and leading the school choir, providing students with opportunities to develop their confidence, talents and enjoyment of performing. The teacher will contribute positively to the school’s Catholic community and encourage every child to participate, create and perform. The position is a fixed-term contract for 2027 at 0.3 FTE. The teacher will plan and deliver music learning for students with diverse needs and abilities, lead choir rehearsals and performances, and coordinate the annual school music concert. Requirements
- Passion for music education and ability to engage students across a range of year levels and abilities.
- Experience teaching music, including singing, instrumental and classroom music programs.
- Ability to lead and develop a school choir and prepare students for performances.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging music lessons that cater to students’ diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Foster students’ appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of music through practical and theoretical learning experiences.
- Organise and lead regular choir rehearsals and performances throughout the school year.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver the annual school music concert, showcasing student learning, creativity and performance skills.
