About The Position
As a Security Officer Patrol Driver in Merced, California, you will serve and safeguard clients in retail and mall settings. This primarily driving post involves visible unarmed patrols, routine site checks, access control support, and customer-focused communication to help maintain a welcoming retail environment and deter incidents while supporting visitors, associates, and operations. The position is full-time and pays $19.00 per hour. The job schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Friday from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. A valid driver’s license is required for this driving position. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and constructively to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas.
- Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and document observations and incidents according to site requirements.
- Assist with access control and provide directions while maintaining a professional presence in a fast-paced retail environment.
