This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and other stakeholders by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a public transportation and port-related location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, terminals, parking areas, roadways, waterfront-adjacent areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report access-control concerns according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations and actions taken.
  • Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports, communicate professionally with public agencies and site personnel, and follow all applicable post orders and Allied Universal procedures.
