About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol and Access in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a dynamic technology location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access awareness, deliver strong customer service and communication, and bring our agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first values to every interaction through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, data-sensitive areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and support access control processes in accordance with site protocols and posted instructions.
Support daily operations by preparing reports, noting maintenance or facility concerns, and sharing relevant observations with Allied Universal leadership and/or designated site representatives.
