About The Position

The Security Officer I observes, detects, responds to, and reports suspicious or unusual incidents, security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergencies to help prevent unlawful, unauthorized, unsafe, or disruptive activity. The officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors by monitoring CCTV and conducting internal and external patrols. This role also de-escalates situations involving agitated or aggressive people, including the potential application of physical restraints under established principles. The officer directs visitors to obtain appropriate passes, answers questions, and provides directions within the facility. Security status, updates, and actual or potential problems are communicated using established protocols.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Driver’s license required upon hire.
American Heart Association CPR certification required within 180 days.

Nice To Haves

One year of safety and security experience preferred.
One year of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

De-escalate situations involving agitated or aggressive persons using established principles, including potential application of physical restraints.
Direct people entering the facility to obtain proper visitor passes and assist with directions.
Answer visitors’ questions about the locations of offices, rooms, and other areas.
Observe, detect, respond to, and report suspicious or unusual incidents, security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergencies.
Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems using established protocols.
Monitor CCTV and conduct internal and external patrols in accordance with established protocols to maintain a safe and secure environment.
