About The Position

The Security Officer I observes, detects, responds to, and reports suspicious or unusual incidents, including security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergencies, to prevent unlawful, unauthorized, unsafe, or disruptive activity. The role helps maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors by monitoring CCTV and conducting internal and external patrols. The officer also directs visitors, answers questions, communicates security updates, and de-escalates situations involving agitated or aggressive people, including the potential application of physical restraints.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Driver’s license required upon hire.
CPR certification from the American Heart Association required within 180 days.

Nice To Haves

One year of safety and security experience preferred.
One year of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

De-escalate situations involving agitated or aggressive persons using established principles, including the potential application of physical restraints, to prevent safety hazards.
Direct people entering the facility to obtain proper visitor passes and assist with directions; answer questions about locations within the facility.
Observe, detect, respond to, and report suspicious or unusual incidents, security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergencies.
Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems using established protocols.
Monitor CCTV and conduct internal and external patrols in accordance with established protocols to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
