As a Security Officer CPR Trained Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Allied Universal officer at a residential shelter location, you will conduct routine unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps discourage incidents, and support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a residential shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, including interior common areas, exterior grounds, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, as conditions vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry when required, and help to deter unauthorized persons, prohibited items, and/or disruptive behavior on the premises.
  • Support a respectful environment by observing resident interactions, reporting maintenance and policy concerns, and assisting with de-escalation support when appropriate and within post orders.
