About The Position

As a Security Officer Healthcare in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must be able to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 5 years of security-related experience.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Applicants must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, assist with visitor directions, and report maintenance, access control, and other security-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Support staff and guests during high-traffic periods, after-hours activity, and emergency situations by following post orders and communicating clearly with site personnel and/or first responders.
