About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Branch Flex Officer to safeguard clients across a range of industries and locations. In the Security Officer Flex Armed Coverage role in Corpus Christi, Texas, the employee will work across varied sites and assignments, building experience and opportunities for advancement. The position typically offers 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary from week to week and combine manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and the officer may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. The pay rate is $20.44 per hour.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Have at least three years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least five years of armed security-related experience.
• Hold a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel the required distance.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
