About The Position

As a Security Officer Customer Service Patrol Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access awareness throughout the site. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor foot traffic, observe for suspicious behavior, and/or document security-related incidents, hazards, and policy violations for follow-up by site leadership and/or Allied Universal.
• Support access control practices for team member and vendor entry points, and/or assist with closing procedures and after-hours patrol activity as directed by site policies.
