As a Security Officer - College in Newberry, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at an education location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This role combines strong communication, customer service, and teamwork while supporting a caring, reliable, and innovative culture built on integrity and people-first service.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and support entry procedures in alignment with location policies and assigned post orders.
  • Assist with routine security-related checks of doors, gates, lighting, and common areas, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
