About The Position

As a Security Officer Charter School Patrol Officer in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Customer service experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, families, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and visitor entry processes in accordance with school procedures, directing guests to appropriate locations and reporting unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and communication protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of school buildings, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to school leadership and Allied Universal management.
