As a Security Officer Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and assist with access control. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and the public at a utilities location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, and critical utility infrastructure to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report access-control concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and applicable procedures.
  • Complete accurate reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
