As a Security Officer Armed - Site Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a healthcare location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate hospital personnel and first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, restricted-area access, and directions throughout the healthcare facility.
  • Carry and maintain authorized equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal policies, client requirements, and applicable laws.
