About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Patrol Officer to support a government corrections environment in Hookerton, North Carolina. The role involves conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, responding to security-related concerns, and providing professional customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring an armed guard card or license and a valid driver’s license. The listed pay rate is $21.50 per hour. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday from 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM. Applicants must have at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience, be at least 21 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants are subject to background investigation and, where permitted by law, drug screening. Industry-specific security training is required. Licensing requirements may apply before employment, depending on state or local laws and regulations.

Requirements

Possess an armed guard card or license.
Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
Have a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities in a government corrections environment.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor and control access to assigned areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, vehicle, and incident information according to site procedures.
Communicate professionally with facility personnel, visitors, and the public while observing and reporting unusual conditions, policy violations, and potential hazards.
