Requirements

  • Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by carrying out assigned security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter access points to help identify unusual activity and/or potential issues.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help support authorized access, observe visitor activity, and/or report suspicious behavior.
  • Assist with routine post duties such as maintaining a visible presence, following post orders, and communicating with site personnel and/or local responders when needed.
