About The Position
As a Security Officer Armed Mobile Patrol in Kansas City, Missouri, you will serve and safeguard clients at a cultural institution. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and guests. The role includes responding to security-related concerns, communicating professionally, and providing customer service. This is a part-time position scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM, at a rate of $22.50 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and guests by carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond professionally to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders when needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of galleries, public areas, entrances, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and assist with access control procedures and visitor screening requirements.
- Report suspicious activity and prohibited items.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol observations, and security-related concerns in accordance with company and site procedures.
